I hope everyone had a wonderful mothersday, I really enjoyed mine, except the weather was horrible again and this was now the third year, so we just stayed at home. First time Amelie told me the poem she learned in kindergarten, and yes I had tears in my eyes, she was just too cute.
Little Miss Ida Charlotte is already 7 month old, time is flying. But she is the cutest and totally a mommy girl, so the last week wasnt really productive, coz she isnt feeling really well and had to snuggle a lot with mommy.
And I couldnt be more happier, some weeks ago Melissa @MsMidge created so amazingly cute wedding ring cushions, that I asked her, if she could make mine, coz Im horrible doing pebbles. She agreed. And yesterday I was totally excited when I unwrapped my package, inside I found my wonderful wedding cushion (just have to ad the back) and a wonderful card from Melissa. This quilting world is so generous, Im always impressed. Thank you so much Melissa, I really love it and cant wait to use it on my wedding in less than 3 weeks.
Yes I found the time to start something new, Daniel and I decided, we need a big throw quilt for our bedroom. I have never done such a big quilt before. So I sat down, started designing a new pattern but then we found out, we have too less coordinating fabrics. I was close to crying, coz I really wanted to start and dont wait 3 more weeks until shipping arrives, so Daniel went straight to my stash, pulled everything out, and searched for more fabric, to ad to the stack. It was the cutest, In the end we had some really great fabrics together and he also helped me with the design. Totally love him.
We have now the blue and greys from Sunnyside by Kate Spain & yellow and pink/violett from Heirloom by Joel Dewberry. I already started cutting, but it takes quite long to cut all these Fat Quarters up, but I will have some progress next week, of course.
Daniels Bedquilt –- I was totally impressed, that the sashing & backing fabric arrived within just one week, normally I have to wait about 3 weeks. And for the first time I purchase a matching Aurifil, and got so excited when I used it. I always thought others are just joking when they talk about Aurifil. Nope, its really great, the first time my sewing machine wasnt having tension troubles or anything, sewing was just so relaxing. Cant wait to use it for quilting soon.
