Who doesnt love a child like this? Happily laying out all of mommys scraps and squealing “fabric, fabric” the whole time. Enya was just the cutest. She really loves to play with my fabric.

I totally love to make these cute key fobs out of my scraps. They are wonderful gifts. These above will be gifts for my sister and my mom. There will be a tutorial for them in the near future – I promise.

Secret Project - Finally my solids for a secret project arrived. First time using Bella Solids and Im already excited, they are so soft.

But I already run into the first problem, typical me, its right now 4 1/4” (1/4” too short) x 10” (perfect lenght). And I really dont know why. I measured everything in EQ7. So no work for me, and I thought no math problems, but here I sit now and dont know how to fix this. Maybe anyone of you knows a tutorial for this, or has any tips for me pls.

  1. She's adorable! Love the key fobs. Half rectangle triangles drove me crazy last year. I added an inch and trimmed them later in the end. Have you tried paper piecing? I found that the easiest way to make them!

    1. thank you Ruth, I think I figured them out now, was such a pain, and its for a magazine, so I shouldnt use paper piecing, of course I would have done it this way

  2. she is so cute Cornelia! I can't wait to see if she is going to be a sewer some day. <3 I was at the craft store and saw some Halloween themed sock monkeys and thought of her. Everytime I see some I want to buy them for her lol.

  4. Those key fobs are a great way to use up some scraps and make beautiful gifts, Cornelia. Your daughter is so cute! Sorry to hear your solids piece is not turning out quite right. I always try to do a test piece using fabric I don't like. Are you using rectangles or triangles to do the piecing? Maybe add 1/4 inch to the width of those pieces? Hope you find a solution.

    1. thank you Lorna, the key fobs took me a bit to figure out the perfect size, but now they are fast and easy. My solids piece is nearly a full quilt top, if I had enough Kona Snow at home lol, so it has to wait a bit now. I figured it out, but I dont have ugly fabrics to try it on, thats my problem, so Im okay with trying on solids, better than on patterned fabric, more comfortable with this solution lol.
