"Celestial" Pattern now available

First I think I need to apologize for just disappearing. I took a break, a really long one. I was gone over 9 month. My life was quite stressful the last month, so I wasnt really in the mood for sewing or any other crafty stuff. But Im finally back again and I love to sew and quilt again and really missed it.

Before I left one of my "Quilt Designs A Day" became a quilt pattern and was published in the "Make Modern Magazine - Issue Two". Today I finally found the time to put this pattern also on craftsy for all those that had no chance to get the magazine.

I’m sure some of you know that I participated in the “Schnitzel & Boo Mini Quilt Swap” some weeks ago. And I can finally reveal what I designed for my partner Tara in Australia. And sadly Im still waiting to get a mini quilt for myself, Im already stalking my postbox. *g*

I designed this flying geese pattern for Tara, coz she loves everything modern and a ton Tula Pink of course *g* And then I thought I just could make you all happy. So I decided to make this “Whirlwind” pattern free for you all.

Q2 FAL & AYOLF April – Finish #3 – Every Which Way

Finished my very first quilt with my own pattern and couldnt love it anymore. I wanted to take some great outdoor shots, but since weeks the weather is now just rainy, cloudy, windy or something else, thats not great for being outdoors with a new quilt. So I decided to take them later and just do some indoor pics in the kids room. Amelie already loves her quilt, even if its not yet gifted to her.   This quilt is listed here in the Q2 FAL List.

WIP Wednesday – new techniques

New Projects:

Dresden Cushion –- My first ever dresden, and I dont know why I waited so long, its totally easy and fast to do it, and looks beautiful.

Hexie Cushion -– already finished the front, tried this tutorial by Modern Handcraft, it wasnt this easy like i thought, and quite a mess with this glue stuff, but I like the end result.

Finished:

About a month ago I finished 2 presents for my wonderful friend Tanyia, but i just couldnt show it until it reached her. Yes it always takes about 2 weeks to get stuff to the states. I created this labyrinth quilt for her, with tiny 1” squares. And my first ever mug rug, with my first Improv star, its so cute.

Ongoing:

Every Which Way Quilt -– quilting and binding is finished, I just need to get healthy again and find some time to photograph my quilt outdoors.

Once Upon A Time Sampler -– finally finished February, already started  on the march part.

2014 Q1 Finish Along – #2 – Wedding Quilt

Totally happy that I completed another project from my Finish Along List, this time its our wedding quilt, I created especially for our wedding May 31, 2014. And so happy its finished just in time, to display it there. After finishing I decided to stitch the date on it too, but this didnt happen yet. First time I tried something else than just loops with FMQ. I did woodgrain on the background, so it will look like the heart is carved in a tree, its a bit hard to see on the pictures.

WIP Wednesday – Another Finish

Finished: Heart Wedding Quilt
Totally proud I finished my wedding quilt and I love it, took a indoor picturejust for showing you, and hope the weather will get better/sunnier so I can get some outdoor shots too. Still not sure if I shall embroider our wedding date in the bottom right corner or not?

New Start:
Labyrinth Miniquilt –- for my lovely friend Tanyia, will become a belated birthday gift.
I cut already over 300 tiny 1.5” squares and started chain piecing.

Full Of Charm – Wall Hanging

I have my first finish for 2014 and Im totally in love with my mini version of my wedding quilt, used 2 mini charm packs with “Hubba Hubba” by Me & My Sister Designs. Quilted a chevron on the whole top, just with less space on the white background. Love how the colors pop. This HST's are quite tiny 1.5".

WIP Wednesday - Plus Tablerunner finished

First I dont know which one makes me more happy lol, that my “Lottie Da” Bundle arrived  or that Im finally engaged. *g*


New projects:
Plus Tablerunner -– started this one at the weekend, with some wonderful prints my friend Tanyia sent me in summer. And decided on some simple plus design. The present was gifted yesterday, so I can finally reveal the whole project, not just tiny sneak peeks on instagram.


Quilted one big circle over the whole tablerunner, its a bit wavy now, and I dont know why, but I totally love how it turned out. There will be more of these soon, Im sure.

WIP Wednesday – trianglequilt finished and some baby news

Little Miss Ida Charlotte joined us nearly 3 weeks ago, more to read about her here.
And now something sewing related, it was great to sew again, after this 2.5 month break.
Finished:
Enyas Trianglequilt –- finally done, I quilted the triangles with straight lines into diamonds, and also tried a bit free motion quilting in the middle panel, its not the best, but i got better at the end, need much more practice.
Enya will get her quilt christmas or at her birthday, not sure yet. I took some indoor pictures, coz outdoor its totally ugly and rainy. So not the best weather for a quiltshoot.

Babyquilt finished – Photoshoot

Today I had finally time for a little photoshoot with my latest finished project -– Babyquilt for number 3 who is joining us in 8.5 weeks. Its totally soft and cuddly coz of the fleece backing.

I quilted straight lines vertical and in the ditch horizontal.

And of course little Enya had to join our shoot, and gave mommy a kiss.
